Even if they come recommended, you may be on the fence about getting porcelain veneers. What exactly do they offer? How will they improve your life? Unless you know the answers to such questions, you’ll likely have doubts about treatment. In other words, before fully committing, you want to know the benefits of porcelain veneers.

To help along that process, here’s a summary of three awesome perks of veneers. Read on to see if they tip the scales toward a future consultation with your dentist.

Veneers Cosmetically Fix Teeth Simply and Easily

If you didn’t already know, porcelain veneers are thin layers of porcelain cemented to your teeth’s front surfaces to improve your smile’s appearance.

The way they solve smile problems is pretty simple. Whether the issue is tooth stains, chips, or cracks, veneers cover up your imperfections with white and shiny porcelain. Furthermore, each one is custom-made to create the most attractive look possible.

Dentists can usually perform the procedure in as few as two appointments.

Veneers Have a Natural Appearance

Your final veneer placement will look naturally beautiful. The porcelain used for treatment is enamel-colored and matches the contour of your regular teeth. Plus, your dentist will sculpt each overlay so that they create a nice, life-like smile. The final design will fit with your facial symmetry and overall style.

After being placed in your mouth, the veneers will look and feel natural to you and others. Very few could tell the difference between a veneered tooth and a natural one!

Getting Veneers is Minimally Invasive

Placing porcelain veneers isn’t a very invasive process compared to other kinds of cosmetic dentistry. To make room for them on your teeth, the dentist will remove half a millimeter of enamel — much less than what’s removed when you get a dental crown. Then, each overlay is bonded with special cement. While the dentist may have to add small adjustments to the size or color of the veneers during placement, these should only be minor touchups.

The patient doesn’t need anesthesia or other sedation for the bonding. Furthermore, the results are immediately visible once the veneers take hold.

Given the above features, you can see that porcelain veneers have more upsides than downsides. Talk to your local dentist to see if treatment would help your smile reach its full potential.
